Some qualifications to the lesson--and hesitation about this material

Providing a safe environment for students who are selfish, social creatures, can run counter-productively. They can see care as weakness, and they can be very manipulative in their efforts to avoid the hard work of learning. I agree that these are very frequently signs of student insecurity--but, in spite of ideas about building confidence--highlighting consequences and consistency (or consistent successes) would be most valuable. Highlighting successes and gaining broader classroom participation are the keys. These are important strategies that would avoid the problems which result in student manipulation and selfish, work-avoidant behaviors.

Asking closed questions is fundamentally important for students who cannot recall content for 24 hours. These are the best achievers because these students need to provide foundational knowledge BEFORE they can analyze.

Dear David,

That is absolutely true. Students in most cases avoid things in the course materilas, for two main reasons: one, they do not believe the things they are learning probably may not necessarily applied in their professions, and second, the materials might be hard to them to understand and get sensible meanings and purpsoes.  It is here that we professors are stepped in to give meannings and necessities of the  things we teach them for their professions and lives. Jobs or professions and reasonable living require proper academic training and professional performances, free of errors in most cases and that is possible only when they use what they have learnt and knowlegde gained.

For studnets who some how lost directions, purpose and meanings in their education,  Stratford University's principal idom: "Learning through hands on experience" is cardinal, and for professors, "one studnet at a time" is a kernel. It is through careful navigation of what a student wants in his/her profession and the eduaction and training Stratford University offers culminate the needs and goals studnets dream.
