Very good insight Joan as far as students are hard to assess sometimes; totally agreed.  I find that if we attentively listen to our students and support their choices with regards to their educational experience, we can still continue to present the necessary material for their learning objectives hoping that they will put the hours of thought into what is requirred of them to succeed in a chosen field of study.  I feel it is necessary for our students to utilize the resouces available to them during the learning process, with the understanding that we are facilitors to assist in their learning process.  Passion can not always be instilled in students, however if our instructors are passionate about what it is that they are teaching, hopefully students will model their behavior or realize that maybe another avenue is what needs to be directed in order to find their passion in something that fulfills their life.  Empower our students to want to succeed for overall well-being, life will eventually settle them into where their gifts will be best utilized.  Keep up the Positive First-Class Customer Service, and Never Stop Smiling.  Life is Good and our students will appreciate those smiles at the end of the day.
