Understanding each generation underlying typical underlaying assumptions and beliefs is critical to implement a successful admissions program

An effective admissions program has to rely on different communications styles to be able to serve potential students from all of the 4 generations. Research and direct questioning seem to be key to develop such admissions program

I have learned that having an understanding behind the generation of an individual you are working with or for, can greatly impact the trajectory in communication in how you approach conversations to come together.

Understanding the differences in generations and age groups and how their upbringing/environmental factors affects their decision making is important when working with groups of students across all ages

It is important to be aware of the generation the student fits into in order to customize your approach to them, but not to "box" them into that category as they may fit into other generation's thinking as well.

I learned that in an educational institution, different generations coexist, each with their own needs and expectations, and adapting communication and student services requires recognizing those differences.
I realized that active listening and effective questioning are essential to understanding their personal experiences, while personalization and empathy help build trust and a sense of belonging.
Finally, I came to understand that generational diversity is a true asset that enriches the educational experience.

Different generations have different talents. Having students of all ages you need to keep in mind the time they grew up. Maybe a Baby boomer will get completely confused by computer tasks while the Gen Zs will take it on.

I think it is important to know which generation someone is part of as a baseline, however we also have to keep in mind that they may display characteristics of other generations as well.

I need to keep in mind the benefits of being familiar with the differences between generations. This can only enhance my interactions with the variety of students and parents I see on a daily basis.

I understand that I need to acknowledge that I encounter people from different generations everyday and need to keep that in mind always. It will only enhance the encounters.

It's good to have a perspective that there's all walks of life and they all have been influenced one way or another. This helps us to help others and we can have greater empathy and help everyone toward a common goal.

I learned that i need to be more open minded to better understand the generation of students i am dealing with as well as the different techniques being used by coworkers.

This section helped clarify some of the characteristics I had noticed in colleagues of different ages but wasn't sure if they were a pattern.

I've had colleagues of all ages and also been a manager of people both much older and much younger than I am. It's important to learn how each group likes working and being managed so I can help them make an impact.

I learned information on each generation and communication style. I plan to apply it to my day to day interactions and be self aware of who I'm talking to so that what we can have common ground and connect.

Each generation brings unique perspectives, values, and ways of thinking shaped by the world they grew up in. Understanding these differences is not about division. it is about connection.

Understanding the diversity of generations is beneficial as it enhances our interactions with students across all age groups.

Understand the different values and characteristics can help with communication and understanding prospective students. It is important to keep in mind that everyone views things through a different lens.

Understanding each generation and adapting to how they communicate and receive information is vitally important to achieving goals.
