I learned about OHT and USDLA. Online Communication Strategies and basic relational writing practices. Choice of words and positive vs. punitive language and variety of type of statements. 

A sense of community and belonging fosters a good learning environment.

I have learned that as an educator I must intentionally design programs and courses to facilitate community development. 

Good afternoon!

I truly enjoyed the descriptive immediacy and time presence portion of the course. Sharing what is happening with me in relation to time based on the student's actions is a great way to establish a human connection. I may have utilized this technique without knowing it in the past, but I am fully aware of this strategy now and plan on utilizing it more.

Learning to communicate with statements acknowledging students concerns and also closing with positive remarks can greatly impact students completing the course 

Build a sense of community by fostering open communication, creating opportunities for interaction, encouraging student to student interactions. 

Positive communication fosters a great online, educational experience.

It is important to provide gentleness and interpersonal communication to promote effective learning.

Positive communication is the key to successful in any course

It is very important to be in continuous communication with my students to be able to guide them regularly so that they can better assimilate academic instructions and experiences.

In my opinion tis system of  interaction with risk students are very important to help students to success in their education and personality. 

I think the interaction between the educator and his/her students is the most important part in order to success in the course. 

From this module, I’ve learned how important it is to use thoughtful communication strategies that build trust and connection with students, especially in an online setting where face-to-face cues are missing. Techniques like using tentative language, sharing appropriate personal experiences, and carefully structuring responses help create a supportive environment that encourages students to engage and feel heard. I plan to apply these strategies by incorporating them into my regular interactions with students, whether in emails, discussion boards, or feedback, so that they feel more connected, understood, and motivated throughout the course.

I learned about the ARCS model and utilizing creating a positive rewarding learning experience utilizing student motivational tools. 

From this module, I have learned that effective online communication, requires clarity, empathy, and consistency to build trust and keep students engaged.

Online communication with students has to be positive and very thorough. Knowing that these students don't meet in person, it's important to do follow-ups with them to ensure a better learning experience.

Online communication strategies are essential for online retention because they build rapport, help the student feel seen and heard, and even deescalate stressful feelings in students. I am now aware of intermediate and advanced techniques to use in my online communication with students going forward.

It's always best to maintain open communication and an open-door policy with students. They should have access to you whenever they need assistance or clarification.

I have always taken pride in being effective in communication. This module has truly been insightful and has given me some tools to implement.

Communication is something I highly prioritize in my personal life and strive to improve to the best of my ability. Now that i will be teaching, its nice to see other ways that I can improve my communication to help my students be as successful as possible. These are some strategies that I may also utilize at home!
