Keeping focus is so important for both the students and instructor. Both are subject to days that they lack energy and initiative to participate, when that happens, sometimes you need to change things up. I enjoyed the sectioned that recognized that at times this can be tedious for the instructor as well as the students. I have personally fallen into those situations and would change up the class that day. Maybe step away from set schedule, tell some stories, do some role playing or let the students pick a subject we have already discuss and they trained the class. It allowed to see where they stood and their understanding of the materials.
Simulating "crisis" situations in a safe environment is something I had not considered. It's a great tool to develop a critical and essential skill not just for the workforce, but life in general.

It is more important to focus on all of your roles as an instructor (presenter, coach, mentor, designer, judge, etc.) rather than focusing on trying to be a perfect expert.
