Resume Prep

Hi Ryan,

I also work for a for-profit and have been a Career Services Professional for a little over 12 years so welcome to the field. We utilize a resume worksheet that we created to get the basic information about the individual, course they are attending, employment history, volunteer work, certifications and skills so that we can build a resume for a starting point. We then have the individual come in and review and fine tune their resume. I have found this allows the individual to think about what they want on the resume first before having to sit for an extended period of time just to wait on me to type it up.

Also if you have the option to take a a course I highly recommend getting your Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW) Certification. It is available through the Professinoal Association of Resume Writers (PARW)

Hope this helps!
