First it is important to use questionnaires and discussion to get to know the backgrounds of your students. This allows the teacher to understand the diversity and multiculturalism of their students. Then probe goals and interests by focused discussion. Allows students to choose projects based on future goals and work in teams to create real world environments. This is the process of connecting background information with current education and then projecting that onto future goals.
Then as the project comes to a conclusion, bring in community members who specialize in those jobs and are from diverse backgrounds. This allows the students to learn real life concepts, work with others to complete projects, and visualize career goals. This also allows faculty to show the global economy and cultural awareness through the diversity of their students' backgrounds.
