Transparency and Accountability – Reflection
This module reinforced the importance of transparency and accountability in building trust, promoting ethical practice, and maintaining professional integrity. I learned that transparency involves open, honest communication, while accountability requires taking responsibility for decisions, actions, and outcomes. Together, these principles support effective teamwork, improve safety, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
I intend to apply these concepts by communicating clearly and honestly with students, colleagues, patients, and families. As a nurse and educator, I will take responsibility for my actions, acknowledge mistakes when they occur, and use feedback as an opportunity for growth. I will also encourage open dialogue and model professional accountability, helping to create an environment where trust, learning, and high-quality care can thrive.
