Hi John:
Preparation means think about your class from the perspective of the student.

When you walk in is the teacher there? Can you ask questions without feeling like you're bothering them? Are all the materials neatly laid out? Does the lesson flow smoothly with natural pauses for breaks, etc. These are subtle traits that telegrapgh a message to students: "Teacher on the ball". Anything less is...less than wonderful.
