Coordinator as Expert | Origin: CS131

This is a general discussion forum for the following learning topic:

Creating Work Based Learning Programs – Next Steps --> Coordinator as Expert

Post what you've learned about this topic and how you intend to apply it. Feel free to post questions and comments too.

I learned that a good WBL coordinator builds strong relationships with students and businesses through clear communication and trust. I plan to apply this by being organized, being prepared with information, and focusing on building long term partnerships with employers.

This module reinforced the coordinator’s role as the bridge between students, school, and employers. I plan to be more intentional in guiding placements, setting expectations, and supporting both students and partners to ensure meaningful, safe, and well-structured work-based learning experiences.

The WBL Director is the connection between community partners, students, administrators, board trustees, etc.. Communication and support for valued and productive relationships are paramount to the success of your program.

As a WBL Coordinator, having an organized information packet for students, parents, and potential/contracted businesses will be important.  My district will want to create a BRAND for WBL and use those elements to coordinate all communications.  This information should also be templated, and usable by all schools for their specific needs.
