Matching Job Applications to Resumes
This is something I tell all my students and graduates to do for each job application.
I tell them if it's important enough to put on the job description, then it's important enough to include on your resume (and make sure that information gets into the job application itself).
I completely agree with CS102 so far!
I inform my students as well, however I always find myself having to show by demonstration how this should be done. The students usually want to take the easy way out that is just hit a button and submit a resume. Taking the extra step to match skills on the resume to job requirements are important and pay off in the long run.
