FMLA(Family Maternity Leave Act) VS LOA

If a student in a non Title IV school insists on taking the FMLA what would be my answer. Is it not a violation of a Federal law If I do not grant the student

Aghogho,
Thanks for your question. Although FMLA and leave of absence (LOA) appear related, they are different. FMLA is for employees. Your leave of absence policy should be explained in your catalog. Follow the catalog and allow LOAs only if they meet the criteria listed in the catalog. If the student is not eligible for a LOA, and they need to drop, there may be re-entry options later.
