I think you are right, many students do not even read the rubric.
I am not sure any of my students would offer input into a rubric even if they did read it. The courses are so fast passed, that I believe the rubrics are helpful in streamlining student efforts, at the same time, I do not expect many students to take the time out to evaluate and comment on a rubric.
