Excellent idea. In my on-the-ground classes, I have noticed that the same students tend to take the lead in the group work, time after time. Then, the weaker ones get a grade for group work that they really did not deserve. And who knows, maybe if they had to be the team leader, they would have risen to the task...I can not wait to incorporate this in my classes this week where we do group work on our English Literature readings constantly. I find that in groups, they actually read the material, and at least discuss it. If I lecture too much about it, they just nod off! I teach until almost 11 pm at night, so we have to do a lot of interactive work just to keep awake!
