Keeping Students On-Track, Managing Content and Time

When developing your online strategies, how many of you have found that breaking things into smaller parts is preferable? I know that some instructors favor larger lessons given less frequently in the week. There are obviously pros and cons to each. What ways have you organized content? Larger and less frequent vs smaller and more frequent?

Katina,
Smaller is better. You will lose your audience after 10 to 15 minutes.

Agreed I believe it can be easy to overload online students. Speaking from personal experience as have taken online courses as student I noticed I would get anxious an confused if a section of the course was too long. Breaking up the lesson helps a lot to digest the information covered in the coarse.

Ramondo,
Time slips away from students too if they do not login often. They are then behind.
