structural integrity

I find the term " structural integrity" to be vague and open to interpitation
Any thoughts?

Laura ,
I find this term discussing how you organize the knowledge that you want to transfer. You will need to make sure that you are meeting all the objectives listed on your syllabus and yet still interesting to the student.

I think structural integrity is a base line for all educators to use when developing a course. For example, taking an online course versus a traditional both need to have structural integrity it is just modified to learning environment at hand.

The basis of structural integrity to me means , of how the course is designed and the purpose and the gain of the information to be used by the student.

Bill,
If we do not teach and show integrity in our classes, how will students learn. Good point.

Paul,
The bottom line is the purpose of the course....you are right!

I think a course has structural integrity if the activities of the course support the desired outcomes of the course.

Glenda,
Exactly! The activities need to support the outcome that has been posted in your syllabus.
