math

What types of math projects have you found useful?

Other than food costing projects, and recipe conversions, I too would like an answer to that question.

I have a fun excercise I give to students as a tutoring activity.
I have them cost out and try to sell what they made for dinner last night. It gives them a practical math situation and lets them use a fresh experience to put to use.

I gave to my students a booklet with all the math they have to use for the school. I Also use a frame with some funny examples, differente colors, red for negatives answer, bleu for the right.

Marie-Anne,

It is so important to make material, especially math/costing, relatable to their personal life if they are not currently in the cooking/hospitality profession.
