As I lecture about muscles, I share memory tools that have worked for me and prompt students to share their own cognitive threads. One of my classes is working on a bony landmark rap to share with the intro class. Making new material relevant and fun, not only to their future profession, but also to their current life experience seems to help it stick.

Relevant and memorable are the best combination of situations to move information into the learners' long term memory.
