preparing classroom

If you look hurried, and disorganized entering a classroom,it does'nt give the students a good first impression of yourself.

Hi Alcide:
As the saying goes, "we have only one opportunity to make a good first impression". A prepared mind accompanied by prepared resources will provide an effective instructional learning envirionment.

Regards, Barry

This is true, students looks at us for inspiration and seeing their professor stumbling through a stack of papers does not make a good impression.

Hi Sergio:
Yeah, our students expect organized, prepared, knowledgeable, and caring instructors. The closer we can get to these attributes the better the students will likely do in their course work.

Regards, Barry

I agree first impression is everything and as an instructor, we should be well prepared for discussion during lecture, hands on instruction, as well as life experience sharing about the subject. That can keep them focused and interested on the topic

Hi Rebecca:
Being prepared sets the stage, atmosphere, and expectations for how class will be conducted. As you point out, life expereinces having to do with the job or profession can assist by adding flavor and attention to the planned lecture. People like stories and they tend to remember the information too.
