restricted evaluations

grading evaluations is set to a standard sent by H-D

Hi Norm:

Yes, in many institutions, the faculty must ascribe to predetermined grading standards. And that is probably the point - "standard". One of the more frequent complaints I've received over the years regarding grading is that somehow, the student feels they've been treated differently in the grading process.

So having standards is one attempt to resolve that concern by students. Unfortunately, standards alone don't necessarily assure that all of your student learning outcomes have been met.

Regards, Barry

I agree totally,I found this section to be of immense value as it will help me to work within the framework of the offical grading policy.

Hi, Barry,
Another unfortunate practice in some of the many institutions is that "standards" become a misnomer as regards the policy of student admissions; most of the challenges and complaints from both teachers and students arise from misalignment of the "standards".
