This module discussed monitoring students in order to keep an eye on how each student is doing in class - do they look lost, are they talking and not paying attention, etc. It is important to make eye contact with all of the students so that they feel like part of the class. Get to know your class in order to become a more effective instructor. Give a pretest to determine where you need to start. Start with familiar information and gradually move to unfamiliar and more complex information. Emphasize 4-5 main points for each class. Speak clearly, smile, move around the classroom, and use gestures to make your lectures more effective. Use different delivery methods, such as slides, lecture, activities so that all learning styles are addressed. 

This module discusses trusting AI to respond to students without constant supervision. The first step is to evaluate the program to make sure it aligns with the curriculum needs, is transparent, reliable, protects student safety, and can be adjusted as needed. Once the program has been integrated, it is important to monitor the student interactions, student feedback, and consistency of the information. This module discusses using AI as a brainstorming and thinking partner. An example of this would be asking AI to come up with learning activities for students whose learning style is tactile or hands on. This module discusses how  to get started using AI. The first step is to evaluate what types of  information in your field could be easily handled by AI. Then determine what activities might AI be helpful with - and what what aspects should you maintain complete control over? How well are AI submissions are working for you. This module really explained AI with easy to understand examples - such as constructing a building; the algorithms are the plans, the data is the materials, and the training is the crew. Once the concept of how AI works is understood, then you can understand methods of using AI - tell, team, or trust. Are you telling AI what you want it to do, working with it to brainstorm ideas, or trusting to work on its own. This module discussed growth mindset, hope, grit, gratitude, and mindfulness, and how to foster these strengths in students to help them face the challenges they encounter through school and life. The module cited multiple research studies that support the positive effect of these strengths when employed on a consistent basis. Some exercises that were offered include focusing on intentional mindfulness, writing a letter of heartfelt gratitude, and writing a speech to accept a lifetime achievement award.

This module discussed the core values and their associated strengths. For example, the strengths of appreciation of beauty, spirituality, and love of mankind are all under the umbrella of transcendence. Some other values include wisdom, bravery, and prudence. Identifying our signature strengths can help students see themselves in a different light, provide a purpose for learning, and challenge themselves to achieve their goals. Our strengths can also bolster us when things don't go as planned or when we are feeling down. This module continued the discussion positivity by looking at finding your personal strengths and using them to reflect on your goals and purpose for learning. One exercise that was offered was to write a daily reflection of what you are grateful for. Another suggested assessing each class regarding why it is important to take this course, how will it help me make peoples' lives better, and what might be challenging in this class and how will remembering my purpose for learning help me face this challenge. I think this exercise is especially useful when teaching a difficult class. 

This module discusses the shift of psychology to focus on positive thoughts and overall well-being, and how to apply that to our life and the classroom. Research has shown that focusing on character strengths, positive thoughts, and personal reflection can improve our feelings of life satisfaction. Some techniques suggested in the readings include daily self reflection using the PERMA model, deep breathing exercises before taking an exam, pointing out a student's strengths, and pairing meditation with detention.
