I am grateful to work for a company that believes that good leadership skills can be developed. As they saw the potential in me long before I saw it in myself. I have many supervisors or managers that I report to. Every one of them have shown me grace as I grow in my position. They are great role models for me to look up. They all have their own style and personalities, and it has been extremely helpful to get feedback and support from all of them. One thing they all seem to have mastered is keeping their emotions… >>>

Teamwork is a crucial part of my job being Successful. If I am being honest, it is hurdle I am currently facing. I have found that doing more face-to-face conversations with following up with written or email recaps or reminders is helping. I have also started implementing one on one meetings with my fellow workers so I can clear up any miscommunication or confusion they are having in a more private setting. I find when I speak to them as a group it is great to get the information across along with the why. When I meet with them individually,… >>>

I feel that receiving Knowledge about the different personalities is a crucial part of having a successful employee supervisor relationship. I honestly never really thought about it in the context that it was delivered in the training. So, I am looking forward to really analyzing my fellow employees. I believe this will help me with some of the employees that are harder for me to effectively communicate with. I know now I need to step back and access them better. And I always do try and give them space when I can see they are stressing. Now with having a… >>>

An Important lesson I will walk away with today is, that supervisors or management that often change their management style can come off inconsistent and phony to employees. That always staying yourself while make slight changes is the way to go. I feel this is a good advice as I am new to a role as supervisor. I am constantly growing and learning better more effective ways to do my job. I need to remember to stay true to myself and my personality while making those improvements to my performance as a supervisor.

The average attention span of an adult learner is 15-18 minutes. I found this extremely informative. As teachers we need to be aware of Statics like this so when we are teaching through lecture, we make sure we are breaking it up into 15 min intervals. That we make sure that we are being engaging while we are teaching. We need to plan out lectures to make sure we are getting the content across to students in a way that will excite them and keep their attention.

Its important when meeting a class for the first time that we arrive early take the time to introduce ourselves to our students. Take the time to properly introduce yourself. When doing so give brief background on your skills and career.  Also, it is super important to be clear and explain your expectations for the course.

First of all, making sure you as an instructor have taken the appropriate steps to set your class up for success. We need to take on the responsibility of going through our course before it begins, so you can plan accordingly for each day. Make sure that everything makes sense and is correct to ensure there is no confusion as the class moves forward.  Setting goals for each session for ourselves and students is a great way to keep the class on track and also to see the success of their development.  All of these steps must be prepared before… >>>

  1. That as Instructors we have a lot of great responsibilities to our students. We need to be to be leaders and role models. That we need to set the tone of our classrooms. We do this by with Modeling Professionalism, managing expectations and motivating our students.  We need to show up every day to class prepared and on time.  We need to be passionate about the content we are teaching to inspire and motivate our students. This will help keep them engaged so they will want to keep learning and growing as students.
