To be an effective instructor it is best to incorporate several learning styles for the students. I learned that there are auditory, visual, kinesthetic, and written styles of learning. By incorporating a PowerPoint presentation with written information on the slides this will appeal to the visual and auditory as well as the written styles of students.

Always remember that you have earned your way to where you are at, even though each new thing can be anxiety ridden and being unsure can cause internal demise. Remember as in everything be prepared, make sure you display confidence and warmth. Students will respond to you better if you display the professionalism you want from them.

My key take away from this past module is to encourage those students that are quiet to engage, those that are the class clowns to be themselves but in a more positive or constructive way. For the students that are disengaged or bored include them in the discussions or ask for more details in what you can do to engage them. I also learned to not give students the opportunity to cheat. In todays world most schools have proctored exams now and stricter policies.

It is important to familiarize yourself with the course content even if it is familiar to you. Know how to access everything regarding the class, grading, discussions, responding to posts and deleting posts.

It is important to establish and set clear expectations at the beginning of the class, review the assignments, due dates, and policies with the students.

I learned as an instructor to remain neutral and not let the students frustrations about things out of my control, such as, parking, financial aid get away from the learning environment. I also learned that not all students learn the same way and to remind myself to understand what motivates them to learn. "What is their why"

I learned the four types of classroom management and identified that I am somewhere between a controlling style and a guide. I will adjust and learn to manage the classroom in a more guided style but also understand sometimes a shift in management style is also beneficial. I also learned that students thrive in a well-organized and planned out classroom that can adjust and change as needed.

I learned ways to reinforce a particular difficult concept for my students to learn by utilizing different strategies to help them retain the information such as; the pizza blood gas concept.

Actively involving students in projects can help the students retain or pay attention in a manner that is better to learn. I would however caution to learn the students learning style some of these examples might not work for some students.

I want to know if students and instructors seeing staff in facilities doing something wrong or performing improper hygiene should be confronted in a professional manner is appropriate? I work for a healthcare system where the culture is see something say something.
