Let's learn to Listen Better and Better

In the module, this –Henry David Thoreau quote was shared:

The greatest compliment that was ever paid me was when one asked me what I thought, and attended to my answer."

I loved it because it is a reminder to us to listen and then "attend" to what we hear.

We release judgement and bias - stay open with reasoned skepticism and wisdom, but can we really just "be" - can we really learn how to relax and fully attend to what someone is saying?

I know this can be hard for us at times- when the business day is busy and pauses might not come easy.

BUt let's pause and sit back and chill-ax as we fully attend to colleagues and direct reports. And as we do this - maybe it will also infuse and enrich us as humans because this kind of intercation is good for the human soul. Might even keep us more alive and fresh as tasks mount.

This is my goal - to get better and listening and fully attending to folks. Lreaning to be okay with pauses and a few extra minutes of connecting.
