Wow!

I am new to teaching vocational nursing students.  I will keep a copy of this course as a reference for the start of my teaching career.  I will use the 60 minute assessment question and how did you learn a hobby to help assess learning styles of each student.  I will utilize peer influence during the course of the class room and clinical environment, in addition to consider bringing in graduates of the nursing program around graduation.  I am truly humbled and open to meeting new students, finding out about their learning style, how to use these to the benefit and sucess for each student.  I will keep an open mind when I see challenges that students and I face and I am committed to adjusting my view and beliefs in a constructive way rather than a destructive way.

As I completed this program, I remembered RN residents in my previous job and can now say, oh that's why.  Residents that hardly said a word in class were learning, just not out loud.

Recognizing individual differences is important to teaching, understanding that you style of learning as the teacher may require adjustment moving forward in the learning process.

I am excited about this new teaching opportunity.
