Effective CSA Dept.

The Career Services Department impacts the entire institution. From the moment a student walks through the door - the entire faculty and staff including Career Services Advisors are responsible for connections inside and outside the institution employer connections.  We call this "networking."  The Bigger Picture proves that students, faculty, staff, graduates, employers, and the community all benefit from a well run and networked Career Services.

My next step will be to get an email out to employers with the services ECPI Career Services Dept. will offer them to generate confidence and networking on a comprehensive level.

My goal is to create some projects for the students including learning how to sell themselves professionally on social media i.e. LinkedIn etc.

I believe a visible list of employers who have hired and continue to hire ECPI graduates will be very effective with student confidence and a great resource.

I am in the process of creating a visible list of employers, as well as job titles, graduates report and entitling "Who Hires Our Grads"?  Working for a 100% online institution, it is important job seekers become cognizant of the employers and job titles which thier specific degrees can lead to.  Good luck!

I am not currently working in career services at my school, but I believe this course emphasized how important cooperation between departments is to success. I do a lot of community outreach to businesses and work closely with chambers in many of our communities.
