Understanding Stress

Stress is something people deal with throughout their lives and in any setting. For example, students must manage all types of stress such as juggling academic responsibilities, work, and personal commitments. Something I learned is that stress is not always bad and this was the mentality I held onto for a very long time until completing this course and taking the stress test. Some stress can be positive which helps drive motivation, and productivity. When stress becomes overwhelming, it can have negative effects on both mental and physical health hence the reason the course calls it Negative Stress. This is the feeling of stress your mind and body feel even after completing a goal. A few types of ways people can help destress are to practice meditation, exercise, focus on hobbies, time management, and social support from family and friends. Learning about the types of stress and what they mean can help me in the workplace by learning what I can and can't control and letting it go or finding new ways to help my productivity. I can also use this information to educate students on how they are feeling and having them talk about their stressors as well as ways they destress before assessments or before burning out.

I like how you tied this back how you can support students in managing their own stress. Good Work!
