Internationalization is new to me!

Others perspectives are important also.

It took me forever to figure out how to post on this discussion, which is what this course is about.  Different perspectives on even how systems work.  I am looking forward to figuring out how to internationalize my courses without repetition of the same type of assignments.  I want to make sure students are getting reinforcement and not just repetition.

I learned what will be expected from this course. I am not yet sure how I will apply it, but I'll be looking for ways that suit my students and subject matter.

Good overview. Happy to see there will be some ready made content as a jumping off point for students.

This introduction opened my thoughts to some new ways to engage my students. In hospitality, there are many opportunities to enhance the curriculum by adding a global perspective. I'm looking forward to doing a deeper dive into the concepts that will engage my students, and help them connect globally.

I really hope this program can help me add another layer to my curriculum in medical laboratory technology.  Through increased tourism and immigration, our students and healthcare workers need to be ready to face issues that we may not typically see in the United States.  I also have a masters in public health and frequently use global health topics in my coursework.  I'm really excited to see what I can bring to my students from this program.

The introductory course module provided insight in how knowledge and skills of a global environment can be leveraged for business and career opportunities.

Comment on Wendi Achey's post: I thought the same thing.

This module gave me a good insight on the connection between Global competence and employability skills and the four categories that can be applied to my carpentry class.

From this module, I learned that global competence is essential in today’s interconnected world. It involves being aware, curious, and able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, while considering multiple perspectives. These skills are crucial in a global economy, where businesses look for employees who can navigate international challenges and collaborate across cultures. I intend to apply this in my future work as a teacher by integrating global perspectives into my lessons. For example, when teaching about the Internet of Things (IoT), I could use real-world case studies that highlight how different countries use IoT technologies to solve global challenges, such as smart cities, environmental monitoring, or healthcare innovations.
(I think I had a problem with my account. Sorry. I don't know how or why but I posted my comment with another account)

Faculty Module #1: Importance of Global Competence for CTE Programs

I believe that this first course gave me the idea that global education is the future of our students and future workers and we must prepare them to be able to function within our society by presenting values and a global perspective rather than a local one.

In this module, it is mentioned how we use the four domains of global competence and our skills for work and school life. This helped me recognize how students prepare throughout their time to enter the workforce, and in this way, use their skills for global significance.

With this introducing module, I got even more interested in learning more about global teaching. Something that I really like, is the fact that we teach about being active and creative about issues with global impact, and the fact that students need to be ethical and prepare for every situation, keeps the need of be aware of the constant evolution of the world more present.

The introductory module was well organized and provided many helpful resources.  I enjoyed exploring the rubrics and the career cluster elements to compare them to our curriculum.  I was happy to see we incorporate many elements but there are different integration activities that may increase the student involvement.

The introductory module was  clear and accessible, providing a comprehensive overview of the program. As a final-year English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher candidate, this information will be invaluable for securing employment and fostering meaningful connections with both students and colleagues

I found this first lesson very informative and it caught my attention from the very first second, all the information that has been given to me, will allow me to have some bullet points to share with my students about the importance in the acquisition of a second language, the wide perspective that gives us and the amount of opportunities that you will be expose to.

Encouraging students to research a specific topic, such as manufacturing standards for electronic components like resistors, can expand their knowledge of supply chain variations worldwide.
