As course descriptions can't be altered without a year long approval process from the curriculum committee, I'll be sticking to altering learning outcomes which should only take 6 months to get approved by the faculty
I currently use a student survey to gain knowledge about their previous content mastery, but I can see how including personal background info is helpful. We discuss in class, but not in online versions of the course.
Good overview. Happy to see there will be some ready made content as a jumping off point for students.

Career Ed Lounge is embedded in over eighty professional development portals serving the career and technical education community. Performance Groups in the Lounge are integrated with related learning opportunities offered on these portals. With a few exceptions, Performance Groups are also publicly available to any member of the Lounge to maximize peer-to-peer learning and performance outcomes.
