Activity

I liked the slide on highlighting ideas that could connect to your instruction. In particular, I may incorporate: 1) Take a field trip to a work site engaged in international trade; 2) Connect industry knowledge to information about the world, or historical, political, economic, or geographic knowledge; 3) Evaluate the consequences of individual and team decisions, such as: immediate/long-term; local/global; and who is affected.

I plan to add additional lessons/discussions regarding employability. There are certain soft skills such as simply showing up on time and understanding diverse perspectives that can greatly enhance student employability.

Also, I liked the idea of bringing in a guest speaker with an international perspective. I think this can greatly enhance a students overall global perspective and perhaps give them insight on how to improve their global perspective.

I found the "Global Leadership Performance Outcomes" rubric interesting. It provided a framework for understanding if a student is emerging, developing, proficient or advanced for particular outcomes. For example, the rubric provides and understanding if a student demonstrates a clear and accurate understanding of other people, groups and scholars. This is similar to an outcome I have for my Global Business course and now I have a rubric to help in understanding whether the student achieved this outcome or not.

Discussion Comment

The introductory course module provided insight in how knowledge and skills of a global environment can be leveraged for business and career opportunities.
