It is important to keep professional and personal matters separated. Always remembering that social media content is always scrutinized.

The classroom ties very closely to what I have been taught in 18 years of industry. Always a good refresher.

Always maintain a professional attitude and demeanor as to not cross the line. You must be what you represent.

It is important to keep relationships with students professional.

setting boundaries is important

That in CTE you are not a peer but a role model to your students so act accordingly.

While many of the concepts in this lesson aren't new in the professional realm, I found it to be a very thorough review of why the separation between teacher and student are needed - especially digitally.

Being a role model for my students is important.  I need to set and to model setting boundaries and establishing professionalism.

I am grateful that I have spent enough years in the profession that this comes naturally!

I absolutely loved the explanation about how our attitude can change the "climate" and "weather" of our classrooms. You have the power to humiliate or heal your students, the ability to make a students life miserable or joyous. It just reiterates how large an impact we can have on every student who walks into our classroom.

This section confirmed how I thought a teacher should behave. I'm relived to see it written out.

This was a big reminder to me just how impactful educators can be and why it is so important to always act as a leader. Another point of interest was professionalism and boundaries. In my own experience I have learned that setting good strong boundaries can save a ton of time by avoiding inappropriate and unnecessary interactions with students. Students love to get off task and gossip if they are allowed to and it is up to us as educators to always maintain a close attention to what type of learning environment we are creating.

In everything we do, we must do it with excellence. Be sure to set boundaries letting the students know that you are the teacher and they are the students!

I need to ensure that my social media is in alignment with school policies.

Personal vs Professional, the importance of separating, setting boundaries and not crossing them.  It is a whole new world coming from 24 years in the steel industry, lots of new terminology and understanding it.  I do feel less dumb after this section, as I had no clue as to some of the terms, extensive notes were taken.

thank you

It is a good reminder that despite modeling a clinical lab setting in school, there are distinct behavioral roles between student and teacher as versus work colleague or boss. Visualizing these boundries is important.

I think it's very important to focus on being the best role model you can be for your students.

Having rules and boundaries are critical to a good student-teacher relationships. A good professional relationship will foster a better learning environment.

The social media part really confirmed what I already do. I do not enter my place of employment or job in my profile so it's less likely anything I post can be taken as an "official stance" of my employer.

Remembering that you always have an audience is a key takeaway-- much like parenting, what we do can be much more impactful than what we say.
