Post what you've learned about this topic and how you intend to apply it. Feel free to post questions and comments too.
i learned that i need to try to focus more on how to peek my students interest in what is in my class, and try to personalize it to them so they will stay engaged and motivated. to be Great when they get out in the field
I learned that students learn by hands-on projects and not by just memorization. I also learned that new information is built upon students prior knowledge and they learn based on what they already know. CTE is constructivism at it's core and having an inclusive environment is key to having a successful program.
One thing I've learned is how important it is to get to know your students and understand where they're coming from. In my construction program, some students already have experience with tools and the trades, while others are just starting out. I try to work with each student at their level through demonstrations, practice, and hands on projects. I also think building a good relationship with students makes a big difference. When they feel comfortable and supported, they're more willing to participate, ask questions, and improve their skills.
I learned that understanding students individual needs, backgrounds, and learning preferences is important to keep them engaged and motivated. I plan to apply this in my CTE classes by using a variety of teaching strategies including hands on activities, real world scenarios etc. I want to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable learning at their own pace.
student engaed today and made me feel good as a teacher
Understanding each student learns differently and need to connect with them more. Taking the time to understand their needs and learning will help the student be more engaged and helps them to retain the information. This also helps them to strengthen their learning and able to take ownership of their future.
I think through CTE we have the opportunity to engage with our students in many ways. Through our communication, our instruction, and our ability to connect with each student on their level we provide a path for them to be more successful in there learning environment.
Developing a good student-teacher relationship is the cornerstone of student engagement. When students feel valued and believe that you want them to succeed, they will become more engaged.
I think the teacher-student relationship is one of the most important components of teaching. Establishing that connection will allow you to learn more about them, their strengths, their weaknesses, and their learning abilities. This information helps you determine which resources can make the classroom more engaging and helps you, as the teacher, understand student needs.
Using these learning resources will also help you create assignments and a classroom environment that supports effective learning for all. Accessibility is a hot topic right now. Reviewing the resources available on CAST.org has helped me assess the materials I develop and remove as many obstacles as possible in the learning process.
students gain confidence in their skills and confidence in tackling real life opportunities
Students gain further knowledge of themselves and how to successfully navigate better in a course.
