How to encourage empowerment when delegating tasks?

I generally ask for ideas - even if I have ideas of how I would approach the task. Often, the same ideas are brought up - if not, I can bring them up. Other times, new ways of approaching a task are brought up that are innovative.

I like to explain what I'm looking for in the end result. I'll teach a basic method for success that I'd like students to master, then if it can be acomplished other than the way I've taught with the same results, it's fine with me.
