Thomas, I agree that #3 is very important. You bring up some very good points. I think we learn a lot as we go, but we also learn from each other in these forums. Thanks!
Lindsey, Communication which is timely and frequent is important. Thanks for providing your examples as well. It makes your "communication" more clear - just as we want to do for our students.

Christina, Ah - the morning person. ;-) I too am a morning person, but know of many who are those night owls who stay up after everyone goes to bed. We all have to work our schedule to meet our needs and the needs of our students. And, sometimes going back to basics helps us a lot. Thanks!
Carol, Sometimes we create rubrics from scratch and sometimes we "create" by editing a rubric to meet the assignment's objectives. Many times it's good to have students use a few rubrics you have provided for smaller assignments and then engage them in helping create the rubric for the "big" project. It's good that you and your students are seeing how the rubric may need to be edited and they see the importance of connecting the objectives to the rubric/criteria as well. Thanks for your scenario. It brings up very good points.

Christine, Excellent questions. And, phrasing them as questions helps others think about what questions they should ask. We do have to think carefully about the students and how to present the material to all student and thinking carefully about their learning personalities. Thanks!
Stephen, We all should continue to grow and look for development opportunities as we become better online instructors. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing.
Rafael, Good advice. I go to some sort of Blackboard (our LMS) class every year to learn some new tip. As they update the LMSs as well, we have to stay up to date too. Thanks!
Stephen, Keep up the good work. WE all have to work on collaborative projects in the "real world" so students should be expected to do so as well. Nice job.

Rafael, Excellent. Keep being that professional role model for your students and you'll see them being professional too. Sounds like you are helping students become better communicators. Nice job.
Rafael, You have to "train" yourself as well as your students. Take some down time. Do not be a 24-7 online instructor. It will come with time and best practices you learn along the way. Thanks!
