I'm not sure what you mean here, Scott. Do you mean that students cannot study while using the Internet? Can you clarify?
Yes, Scott...using the "classroom" to represent the "home" in this analogy means that today's students are quite familiar with having no real home and referring to various contexts and communities within which to learn new ideas and concepts. Does this challenge your role as an instructor?
Discussion Comment
Quite true, Scott. When you are using the board what strategies do you use to ensure interaction rather than passivity in your students?

Good point, David. How do you ensure the flexible instructional design required to scaffold the learning when you are designing a course?
Discussion Comment
So, Guy, you can use your creativity in presentation and use of the board. How do you think the board use helps to involve more students and also integrate the group's work efficiently?
Excellent point, Guy. Establishing a team approach to the technology use and innovation helps to facilitate group learning and collaboration at various levels.

Great points, Harry. The technolgy itself never guarantees constructivist teaching methods. Teachers must be committed to inclusive and collaborative teaching and learning with or without technology. The boards, however, can include more student work when used well. Do you have examples of when you have used the boards more successfuly with your students? What makes the difference in your opinion?
Discussion Comment
Good points, Thomas. So this technology literally puts the students' hands on the technology and develops in-context skills. How have you had to adjust as an instructor when using this technology?
Thomas, how do you raise this kind of critical thinking about technology with your students? What is their response to this kind of questioning?
Discussion Comment
Yes, the instructor is vital in the process so that new skills can be developed. Warren, how do you integrate the kinds of checks and balances students need to use information effectively?
