Excellent points, Donna. This has huge impact on relevancy and application. This also changes the role of the instructor and the content of the course.
Accessing content is one of the major benefits, David, however, the technolgy also has the potential to increase collaboration, interaction, and self-directed learning. Can "flashier" content also be more effective in supporting all of these?
Discussion Comment
In your experience, John, how have you been most successful in establishing the balance between use of new technology and hands-on learning?
Discussion Comment
In what ways, David, is it effective? Have you had success in your own classes? What strategies for instructional use did you find the most successful?
Do you see the positive aspects in learning, David?
How do you keep social skills front and center, Scott? What about social networking tools and social media?
Donna, how do you think the potential for this level of dynamic learning could change the way instruction is designed and delivered?
Discussion Comment
Yes, Jon, because it is user-based it means that the user dictates the results to a large extent. It also provides opportunities for direct publishing which is changing the publishing business completely. How do you think the customization and publication potential of the Internet could be better maximized with students?
John...can you be more specific about what might be good and bad uses of technology and how we can stunt the growth and development of students as a result?
Good points, Afrodite, but do you think it has definately challenged how instruction is designed and delievered? If so, how specifically?
