So, Carla, the Internet increases delivery and participation - very true. How can assignments be designed to maximize the technology?
Yes, Paul, your thoughts on experiencing the technology first hand are important. It's kind of like teaching - doing it is what helps us learn how to do it :)
Yes, there is always a process of transition to consider, John. As technology is changing so quickly it seems that process will never end. In any group of students, no two students are at the same place with technology or with their expectations or learning needs. Our job as teachers is to design and support the kinds of learning environments within which each student can move him/herself forward within that environment. So, rather than step students through, we must support their own learning and use of technology. Good point!
It sounds like you've had some frustrations , John. :) Your point, however, is important in that teachers have to think through tasks and assignments using new technology as the results can be immense! Focus on outcome is the key to planning and design.

FB can also go along way to facilitate and support a learning community , John.

Great idea, John. This would maximize the collaborative potential of the technology. The added outcome would be to increase the confidence ofthe students while they learn something new. Great!
Customization, Greg, is fast becoming the normal expectation from students - a direct result of new technology, in my opinion. Therefore, when we can provide a customized learning environment for students, we are addressing that expectation - and it enriches the experience. Good cooments...
Yes, Greg. I like your commitment to process and your focus on learning - your adjustments to the student's existing flow mean that he/she will understand the adjustments within an already familiar context. Much more effective than simply scoring the answer as wrong. Great! This is the kind of support for process that we must demonstrate as teachers...

Most interactive white board vendors also provide countless grahics and images and resources via supporting software. When choosing a vendor, this would be part of the discussion...
What specifically would be enhanced for your students with these devices? What are your ideas?
