One challenge I see will be to convince students to read each other's biographies, as well as participate in discussion forums. Similar to face-to-face instruction, some students will rach through the course simply to earn the credits.
Effective online instruction will depend on my preparation as an instructor. Thorough knowledge of the CMS will be critical.
Most employability skills courses focus on obtaining employment. This module has very helpful information that I can share with my students; many of them have had difficulty maintaining employment. Another reason for termination is related to substance abuse on the job.
I'm looking forward to accessing all these resources at the end of the module!
Do employers in the sklled trades still require and/or expect cover letters?
This information is eye-opening. I thought that cover letters were becoming less necessary and have been replaced by job applications.
What a number of my students tell me is that "I've never had to apply for a job. I just show up at the construction site." Could any of you comment on this observation?
The project at Deaken University is very interesting and an indication of the importance of digital marketing.

Career Ed Lounge is embedded in over eighty professional development portals serving the career and technical education community. Performance Groups in the Lounge are integrated with related learning opportunities offered on these portals. With a few exceptions, Performance Groups are also publicly available to any member of the Lounge to maximize peer-to-peer learning and performance outcomes.
