To be honest, I did not know that the different types of the team need to be created for specific purposes.

Self-directed work team: Meets on an ongoing, daily basis to perform a whole work process.

Project team: Gathers to address a specific problem or opportunity and then disbands.

Virtual team: Brings geographically separate individuals together around specific tasks.

Quality circle: Works on specific quality, productivity, and service problems

This topic is very important to all faculty.

All faculty are leaders. I do believe that we do interchange between the role of leader and manager.

As a leader, we do go back and forth between us the faculty and the students. We assess the group and find out what we need to do to help the students learn and understand.

Retaining online students is a campus effort. It starts from the admission advisors to IT department assisting a student with a technical issue.

As a faculty, my role is to provide an environment where the student is free to learn and ask questions without being intimidated. It is important to provide significance interactions between students, faculty, and staff.  I have to be part of the solution when it comes to retention. I have to help facilitate a campus that provides interpersonal, academic, and professional interactions.

I realized the importance of why an online course should be continuously evaluated for effectiveness.

This is the only way to understand if the course is running smothly, provides a good outline for the students, and produces positive outcomes for the students.

It justifies whether what im doing as an instructor is conducive to the class or shows areas of concern for my course.

This course helped me self reflect.

I noticed that some of my motivational engagement could have been ineffective. For example, I am guilty of content chunking.

Sometimes I pout too much information in a slide, announcement, or comment. I have all this information to share but I have to break it down to pieces.

I will take the large bit of content and breaking it out into smaller, easily discernible portions. That will definitely help the students. I also noticed that my instructor-to-student engagement is well. I do feel that my social engagement in the course with the student is quite… >>>

What is the use of learning if you don't implement what you learn?

What is the use of learning how to teach our students if we don't implement what we learn?

Implementing new ideas or new techniques to keep students involved and engaged in the classroom creates an environment of growth.

We learn the importance of continuing education to supplement our learning. it helps us to develop and support our students.

It is very important for instructors to engage our learners. After completing this course, I realized that an online instructor must understand not only how learners learn but also how to leverage technology to help them take in and retain information. Students are more motivated and engaged when they know they have some say in what they’re doing. I realized that they may lean toward diving deeper into specific topics or may prefer one delivery method over another. Communication is very important to engage learners. I believe this course is vital to every faculty's training. It is very important for us to understand the legality when it comes to teaching or providing accommodation to our students with disabilities. We have to put all of our personal ideas aside. We can never assume that we know the limitations of a person because everybody does things differently.
