About me

I have lived in Northern Virginia for more than 10 years. I was born in Ethiopia and had moved to United States when I was in high school. I’ve visited several cities but have decided that I obviously love the four seasons in the Washington DC metropolitan area.

My work experience falls in the area of consulting Health Care information technology. Most of my clinical work experience was acquired when I served as Systems Specialist. I have more than eight years’ experience in ambulatory healthcare medical software implementation programs.  I have a Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering from University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and a Masters in Public Health from American Public University Systems (APUS).  In addition, I am credentialed though the American Health Information Management Association as a Certified Healthcare Technology Specialist HIT-Pro—Trainer (CHTS–TR ).  I have also been teaching for more than seven years now and have recently joined an online teaching platform.

If proper planning is not implemented, teaching online can be very time consuming!

Can online dependent learners cheat the system and only do the basic minimum to pass the class and not really learn the subject content fully?

In the school I work with, we do a lot of activities to keep students engaged.  We communicate and send announcements frequently, have video links and motivational quotes and audios in the discussions.  I was trying to see if I can get more ideas here...

This is a great continuation of the module.  I am a little bit lost on the navigation part and what is required to complete the cycle :(

It is at times very difficult to stop students from cheating especially in the discussion area. Can you share any ideas you may have on how to control such actions?
