Staying involved with many organizations is very important to keep us on the cutting edge. Most of the instructors at my school all used to be in the field and we all need to keep up with what has changed

I feel that all of the students should use social media, and the instructors should work it into the class, but the instructors should not be on the social media sites that the students are also on. There is a line that could be crossed.

I always try and enguage the students past power points. We have to use them, but I always roll in more interactive ways past the power point because this is what todays student response to

new tech

I love involving todays tech. Modt of our students are younger so it helps keep them involved and interested in the course. For the few older ones, it is harder, but once they get the hang of it they also love it

Fun

I have mentioned this before, but if they are having fun, they are learning and will stay. I believe in this, I see this work and for todays students it is very important

Stay Involved

I always stay very involved with my students. Having personal conversations about them or myself, as long as the conversation doesn't cross the line, helps to keep me aware of any issues with them so I can help if it's needed

stress

I do agree with how much stress can effect our students. I teach a new phase of students every 3 weeks so the first day of each phase I really make sure it is a fun and relaxing day for them so I don't loose them due to stress

Retention

I have found that we really need to work hard to keep them. Yes we have to teach the students what they need, but it is just as important to engage them and use topics that they like and mix those topics into what I teach.
