Well done. It was good and educational to hear this. You can be courteous and respectful, but be firm and solid at the same time. There is a balance that has to be constantly addressed.

Thank you, Felipe Salazar, for your input on all the different approaches that helped deal with the students! I find that as an instructor my kindness is taken as weakness. I need to find an approach that conveys to the student that just because I understand their unique situation(s) they will still need to be held accountable.

Students look at the instructor as a leader. When they feel disrespected or inferior its important to reassure them they can learn.

Well done. I can relate to this. I have found that there have been students who felt I was disrespectful to them, especially when I was dealing with more than one difficult situation at a time. I should have stepped away, given a 10 minutes break to regroup instead of lash out as was my instinct. Thank you for your video.
