Reflection and Action Plan

Completing the OH115 Ohio Admissions Agent New Permit Course gave me a stronger understanding of the responsibilities, ethics, and legal expectations involved in the admissions process within behavioral health and substance use treatment services. The course reinforced how important it is for admissions agents to serve as the first point of trust and support for individuals and families seeking help during vulnerable moments in their lives.

One of the most valuable takeaways from this training was the emphasis on compliance, ethical communication, and accurate representation of services. It highlighted the importance of ensuring that every interaction is honest, compassionate, and centered around the best interests of the client. I also gained a clearer understanding of Ohio regulations regarding patient rights, confidentiality, prohibited practices, and appropriate referral processes.

The training helped strengthen my awareness of how admissions professionals can directly impact a person’s willingness to seek treatment and continue through the recovery process. It reminded me that professionalism, empathy, active listening, and integrity are just as important as operational knowledge. Given my background in behavioral health, outreach, and case management, the course connected well with my previous experience while also expanding my understanding of the admissions role from a regulatory and compliance perspective.

Overall, this course increased my confidence in navigating the admissions process responsibly and ethically while continuing to advocate for individuals seeking recovery support.
