Leadership and Managing Change

As the career college sector enters into a transformational stage, much change is required.  Managing this change effectively takes a talented and multi-skilled leader with a strong vision.

So for all you leaders out there....what do you see for the future of this sector?  What vision can we look forward to?

Jean,

Curious to see what changes you are seeing that stand out the most to you as you work with different schools?  What are the biggest changes you are seeing?

Blake

Blake,

We are seeing a need for strong and talented leadership at all levels of an organization.  With the governmental influence along with the demands of today's consumer...much change is headed our way.  The successful schools/colleges will be the ones with innovative thinking, dedicated implementation and moving egos out of the way. No longer will the words, "We've always done it like that" be welcomed or useful.

Along those lines, some organizations have invested in the long-term by developing their people with sustainable training and development.  Many, however, have churned employees (especially in admissions) with the idea that all employees are replaceable.  When examining the implications of churn (including the huge expense), this is definitely an area to reconsider.
