Stress Management

I have learned that for career school instructors stress is produced from the instructor's workplace and personal life.  It is critical to create a stress list and identify stressors that can be eliminated or reduced.  Then with the remaining stressors one can use healthy techniques for dealing with the stress.  My goal for the new year is to determine which of my stressors I can eliminate or reduce.  I will attempt to work on one stressor at a time that I can eliminate or reduce.

I agree with you about eliminating stessors.  Sleep is another important ingredient in reducing stress.  I make sure that stress does not affect my sleep and get at least 6-7 hours a night.

Having an active life outside of teaching that helps you to recharge is essential in my opinion. Since stress develops in any industry one chooses to work in, you have to find a way manage, get rid of and recharge from the stress that was developed.

Good time management seems to be a key factor in stress reduction.

I have to agree with all of you.  Stress develops in all lines for work, so finding a health outlet is crucial.  I have worked in stressful areas all of my life and finding a way to manage stress is not always easy. Exercise always seems to work for me; it's just hard to find the time.
