About me

I used to work in the hospital setting as a healthcare provider but then have transitioned into the teaching field. I find teaching to be a much lower level of stress environment but the matter of how you communicate matters a great deal wherever one decides to work in. I always believe in improving my teaching style to better my students and on the long run for myself. Great thing about teaching is that if you're dedicated in what you teach or who, it shows.

Activity

Provide clearly stated objectives for the day that is written on the board and verbalized. Then sticking to a highly structured course I think gives a big advantage both for the instructor and the students. It unknowingly allows the student to become excited for the course since they know what is expected of them.

Having an active life outside of teaching that helps you to recharge is essential in my opinion. Since stress develops in any industry one chooses to work in, you have to find a way manage, get rid of and recharge from the stress that was developed.

Discussion Comment

As is the case in professional settings outside of school such as when functioning as a healthcare provider, most important habit one can develop and acquire is as follow: refrain from taking matters personally and always look for ways to improve teaching style no matter how good or not good one is. Time management would be one section.
