Online courses, are also a double-edged sword when it comes to time-management issues and tools to access learning. On the one hand, students can complete coursework around their own work and family lives. On the other, online courses require students to be more proactive about finding time to do assignments with the right tools  it easier.

Students sometimes think it is easier to take online classes not realizing that Time Management is critical.  I do an activity with the students on the first Live Chat re: the number of hours there are in a week and everything we try to do during that week.  Students are always surprised to see time going into the negative.

It always ends up taking time from studying in order to be able to complete the other things on the To Do list.

Well stated, many students think online classes are the way to go. But as we know, some students need the class room setting in order to grasp all the material at hand.

As an Instructor I found this course to be a comprehensive study guide that I will use

in my classroom.

I just completed the class myself.  I found the information helpful because management and preparation are so vital to success in the classroom.  I remember sitting in on cross-training sessions and always feeling like my credibility was enhanced by watching others teach tghe same material.

I agree students need more clarification regrading expectations facing the work in college.  Students need straight forward and realistic detailed information regarding classes, test dates and other important due dated assignments.  Well developed self-management skills, logic and decision making along with problematic skills have to be well honed to excel.  Most first year college students will need that contact to feel connected to the campus so it is important to incorporate a social interactive learning in-class assignments.   This method is advantageous to the student and the facilitator and making them aware if the students are processing the information.
