I’ve learned the importance of embracing the "EduPreneurial Spirit," where we see ourselves not only as educators but also as part of a larger business working together for our students' success. Understanding that our school has both an educational and business side helps me see how every role, whether it’s our receptionist, admissions department, financial aid, or instructors, contributes to student success and retention.
I apply this by keeping in mind that every interaction with a student is a chance to make a positive impact, both educationally and in their overall experience with our school. Whether it’s mentoring them to help clarify their vision or ensuring I provide well-prepared lessons, I focus on the bigger picture: helping students succeed in their goals while contributing to the success of our school.
Students are customers and should be treated with respect. Having said that, they are students, and we can motivate students to achieve their goals and work through or around any negative HABEs they may have. We can also demonstrate role model professionalism that our students may adopt as their own.
One of the biggest walkaways from this segment is ownership of our behaviors, actions, and attitudes. When both the faculty and staff work together to improve the overall quality of education for the students it makes a major impact. It is much easier to be effective by embracing our differences as opposed to working against them. We can all learn from one another which provides an EduPreneurial advantage in the long run.
It is up to us to want it more than some students do, until they decide to want it more for themselves.
I really love HABE's and how it can help students create a proper approach for success in the educational journey. HABE's allows educators to connect with students by not only setting goals, but sharing our personal journey so that students can relate and connect on a different level. Educators should always understand that students are our customers, and we should always communicate clearly with a positive vision in mind.
I look at it from a sport aspect. For example, the by product of any team is to win not the goal. We need to reach our goals of how we work and meeting those expectations, if we meet those expectations, we will be able to have a buy product of winning.
Creating a vision with the student will encourage them and give them hope for what's to come in the future.
learning the students why will help you guide them.
You need to show students that you genuinely care
Students can be a reflection of their instructor.
Relating to students by discussing goals, experiences, etc. can encourage struggling students to gain perspective
Creating a vision and encouraging them to look at options and help either academic, financial, etc, can help students achieve
"A customer-oriented philosophy and Attitude must be embraced by the entire administration, staff and faculty."
Edupreneurial was a new term for me but I love that. It is easy to forget this. The more we treat the customer with care and compassion while holding them accountable, the more successful the student will be. Better retention = profit to company.
Schools are like businesses, and everyone working there should be part teacher, part business-minded. Treating students well, similar to customers, leads to success. Students need clear goals, and everyone in the school should assist them. Our habits, attitudes, beliefs, and expectations affect success, so it's crucial to understand and change them. Blind spots, things we may not see, can limit us, so it's important to identify and address them for ourselves, coworkers, and students.
Students come into education already having their own HABES and it is important in keeping this in mind when assessing their barriers and helping them find solutions.

Helping the students envision their future and showing them the exciting possibilities is a rewarding part of being an educator!
With my knowledge after the training. My goals is to put some auditing mechanisms and new methodologists systems in place that will help students understanding the importance of the college catalogs.
It's very important to help students to create a vison because this can keep them motivated which is why it's important to know about their background, you can use that as a reminder every time they feel like giving up.
