Extrinsic motivators are helpful by starting the learning process, the intrinsic motivators are the most important as that sustains the learning and application of the learned materials. In order to provide intrinsic motivators instructors must be given sufficient freedom and flexibility to do this. 

I've found that encouraging and supporting student activity/autonomy results in the students taking more responsibility for their learning and has increased their enjoyment of the subject. 

This was a good review of the needs of adult learners and what some priority needs are. I think the recommendation to have a summary at the end of the class, reviewing key points is very helpful. 

This section is a good reminder that adults are different learners than children, that they have chosen to be in school with specific goals and as their instructors we want to support their learning desires/needs. 

I think the "sandwich" method of assessment/feedback is a very constructive and positive way to work with students. Start by commenting on something they did well, add some constructive feedback on areas to improve and then summarize with something positive. That builds their self-confidence and encourages them in the learning process. 

Using skills as both a scholar and a facilitator is very important for student learning and an enjoyable part of being an effective instructor

Moving around the classroom and speaking directly to individual students helps to keep the classes attention and encourages each individual student to participate in the discussion. 

As we know, each class and each student is different, this requires instructors to be flexible in their teaching methods. Facilitating learning and acting as a coach are both very productive ways to teach. 

I appreciated the review of how important it is to think creatively and teach creatively. This will keep the students engaged and increase their critical thinking skills. 

This was a good summary of the importance of soft skills and instructor flexibility. Each class and each individual student is different and a variety of teaching methods is needed. The challenge and fun of teaching is identifying what is needed to reach the class and individual students and seeing the results as they learn the subject.
