Hi all,

I am a new instructor in my first term of teaching. I just finished ED101.

I learned in this class that I need to approach my students with different perspectives. Lecture is not the only way to teach someone something - there are multiple options available to the instructor, as well as the students, such as hands-on and problem-based.

I plan on implementing more mini-lectures, in order to not bored my students. I have noticed that they tend to stare off into the sunset after about 20 minutes of lecture; so I have begun breaking up the lectures and adding activities into my class time. I just tried this last week, and their focus shot up.

I will continue to rely on my more experienced fellow instructors to give me some pointers, and make sure I continue to ask lots of questions!
